From day one of founding Sweet Dreams Panoramic Travel, I knew I wanted this business to be more than just another travel agency or agent trying to book adventures for people around the world.
Rather, I wanted this business to be a platform and gateway to an opportunity for storytellers to talk about their experiences with traveling.
With a Bachelor of Science Degree in Anthropology, I've learned that the way we see the world is completely dependent on how we were raised and the experiences we have individually. Two people traveling to the same place may have completely different experiences, and those adventures may have impacted their life in different ways.
In this moment, I can't remember who exactly said these words first, but they always stuck in my head when thinking about the way we experience life as humans,
"We don't see things as they are, we see things as we are."
After a quick Google search, I was reminded that it was Steven Covey who had written a novel in which I had read this quote.
It's absolutely true though, each experience we have is uniquely our own. It may be similar to someone else's experience, yes, but it is still our own. This is why I think it is important to share experiences with one another and provide different perspectives to the world about the world.
In future posts of this travel experience blog, I will write about interviews I've had with people from all walks of life who have traveled the world and been true explorers of our great planet. In addition, I'll invite other storytellers to contribute to the blog with their own words.
I am so excited to see where this business, blog, and community goes. Every post and member contribute to the growth of our shared experiences through travel.
Until the next post, safe travels, and we will see you again soon for the start of our Collaborative Travel Experiences Blog.
Much love,
Reyna Stewart
